Team Lead NLP
Institute for AI in Medicine, Germany
Osman Alperen Çinar-Koraş studied Mathematics at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, with a focus on algebra and numerical methods, earning his Master of Science. Before joining the institute, he gained extensive industry experience as a software engineer, working across full-stack web development, Windows application development, and real-time 3D environments in Unreal Engine. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD at IKIM, where his research evolved from fundamental work on language model architectures toward designing multi-step agentic frameworks that leverage effective prompting strategies for real-world medical applications. As NLP Team Lead, he drives the development of medical document generation tools, personal AI assistants, digital humans, and agentic retrieval-augmented information extraction. His overarching goal is to reduce labour-intensive tasks for medical staff while preserving their authority as final decision-makers — ultimately making healthcare more accessible for everyone.
